The Headteacher and governors are seeking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic Curriculum Leader for Enterprise to commence on 1st September 2026.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious, innovative and dedicated leader with relevant expertise to help develop a brand-new department and shape it to deliver the demands of the new suite of qualifications of the Curriculum for Wales.

We are seeking someone who is committed to raising achievement and provision specifically in the new WJEC Personal Project and Skills Suite, Vocational Education (including Retail Business) and GCSE Health & Social Care and shares the vision and values of Dwr y Felin School.

The successful candidate will have experience of teaching and leading in relevant areas listed above, at secondary level. They will have the skill and expertise to provide challenge and opportunity for pupils of all abilities to develop wider skills in lessons and within extracurricular activities. They must also be able to develop a diverse and transient team of colleagues and subject practitioners.

The main aspects of the role are:

• To lead in providing strategic leadership for the development, monitoring and evaluation of the Enterprise department which includes

o Leadership and teaching of the WJEC Personal Project

o Leadership, overview and direction of the Skills Suite

o At least the leadership of Retail Business and Health and Social care (if not teaching)

• To promote and secure high achievement for all students across the Enterprise department

• To ensure provision of an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and responsive curriculum in accordance with the aims of the school and the curricular policies determined by the Governing Body and the Headteacher of the school.
