The Headteacher and governors are seeking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic Curriculum Leader for Physical Education with a primary focus on teaching girls’ PE across Key Stages 3 and 4. to commence on 1st January 2027 or earlier.
We wish to appoint an ambitious, innovative and dedicated leader with technical expertise who is committed to raising achievement and provision in P.E. and shares the vision and values of Dŵr y Felin School.
The successful candidate will have experience of teaching and leading in the P.E. area at secondary level. They will have the skill and expertise to provide challenge and opportunity for pupils of all abilities to develop wider skills in lessons and within extracurricular activities including the running of specific school teams. They will also have strong moral values and instil sportsmanship in our young people.
The main aspects of the role are:
• To lead in providing strategic leadership for the development, monitoring and evaluation of the P.E. department
• To promote and secure high achievement for all students in P.E.
• To encourage a wider participation in team sports
• To ensure provision of an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and responsive curriculum in accordance with the aims of the school and the curricular policies determined by the Governing Body and the Headteacher of the school.
