Rhydyfro Primary School

Rhydyfro Primary School is in the village of Rhydyfro, near Pontardawe, in Neath Port Talbot local authority. There are 156 pupils on roll, including 24 who attend the nursery class part-time. There are six classes, including the nursery. 47% of pupils are entitled to free school meals. The Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher took up their posts in June 2023.

The Governing Body, staff, and pupils seek to appoint an enthusiastic, experienced/newly qualified and committed class teacher who can support the educational vision of the school.

The successful candidate will:

· Be a high calibre, inspiring teacher.

· Be an excellent classroom practitioner with experience of working across the primary school.

· Have a deep understanding of how pupils learn successfully and how this enables all pupils to make progress through effective and meaningful assessment.

· Show excellent knowledge and understanding of Curriculum for Wales and how it could be implemented to further enhance our current curriculum offering.

· Have high expectations.

· Maintain excellent standards of behaviour and understand the importance pupil wellbeing.

· Have a positive, enthusiastic and proactive attitude to all areas of school life.

· Collaborate and innovate as part of a team.

· Possess excellent organisation and communication skills with all stakeholders.

· Demonstrate the communication skills necessary to take responsibility for areas of the curriculum/school initiatives.
