Are you passionate about supporting others? We are looking for a College Counsellor to join our student support family. This role would be suited to someone with a friendly personality and someone who is eager to create a supportive environment for our students.

Scale SO1, Points 32 – 34, £34,930 - £36,699 per annum (pro rata) equivalent to £11,280 - £11,851 per annum.

15 hours per week (including evening work and occasional early mornings and weekends).

Permanent, part time, part year 35.8 weeks per annum.

About you: Ideally you should have a level 6 qualification (degree or equivalent) in Counselling and relevant experience. You should hold Accreditation with BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy)/NCS (National Counselling Society) or eligibility for accreditation and actively pursuing accreditation. You should also hold a level 2 qualification in English and Maths (GCSE or equivalent) and be IT literate to level 2 (with working knowledge of using MS Word and Excel). Experience of working with young people, knowledge of mental health issues and awareness of the signs of mental illness to facilitate appropriate referrals is essential.
