Our values

We are:

  • We will work inclusively within our communities, embracing the varied localities we serve while sharing our common vision and values.
  • We will develop the very best leaders of the future, working to improve education and transform lives.
  • We will adhere unwaveringly to the ‘Nolan Principles’ of Public Service, which is made clear in our commitment to Ethical Leadership.

Our ‘Institute’ is an umbrella term for all people development available to all ATT stakeholders. It serves our whole ATT community: children and young people, parents and carers, employees and the wider community.

We are committed to the very best people development. We empower all stakeholders through equality of opportunity and place the needs of our stakeholders and the communities we serve at the front and centre of all we do. We believe we are better together and value collaboration within and beyond our organisation. ATT People Development activities will be the very best learning our stakeholders have ever had. Through high-quality people development we will all transform lives and communities.

Our Institute is a learning eco-system through which all people within our communities and beyond can thrive. It starts with the belief that we are all leaders of our eco-system. Leadership does not just come from the top; it has to be genuinely stakeholder-led. Irrespective of our role: admin, education, estates, finance, governance and operations, we all have a responsibility to make things better for children and young people and to help ensure that teachers are delivering a top drawer education. Thus, we have a professional obligation to keep getting better through engagement in people development activities so that the ‘edge’ between schools and communities, where educators work with pupils, parents and carers and communities is the best it can possibly be.

We resolutely believe it is our moral and professional imperative to hear all voices and use our own agency to develop others within and beyond our Trust. ATT employees must use their local leadership to develop and lead others beyond their immediate setting and beyond our own Institute. The advancement of our Institute in this way, will lead to whole of system improvement and transform more lives and more communities.

Flexible working gives employees the opportunity to achieve a better balance between work and other commitments, often by making small changes to working patterns and hours. Managers will make every effort to appreciate an employee's needs such as family responsibilities, work and caring responsibilities and be flexible as possible to try and accommodate their required working hours.

At Academy Transformation Trust we put our people's welfare and wellbeing at the centre of everything. Our Wellbeing Strategy covers 4 key areas: Working Environment, Personal Growth, Health and Lifestyle Initiatives and Culture. We aim to promote and maintain the health & wellbeing of employees, with the goal being to enable a positive relationship between an employee's work and their health.

An example of the type of support available to you;

  • Access to free confidential help & advice available to employees 24 hours a day, every day.
  • Access to our ‘inhouse’ Wellbeing Champions to offer support as necessary

Our benefits platform, Vivup, offers colleagues a wide range of deals and savings on everything from leisure activities to lifestyle savings. Our Employee Assistance Programme gives you access to free external, confidential advice on personal and work-related issues whenever you need it.

At ATT, we are always striving to celebrate Diversity, Equity and Inclusivity across our communities. We believe that all members of the ATT family should feel valued and free to actively promote DEI with our students, staff and stakeholders through open, honest and thought-provoking conversations.

We view DEI as a core value; it is present in our everyday lives and the lives of our students. By embracing our differences, we model the exemplary behaviour we want our students to take into their lives post-education.

ATT has a DEI working group established with representative staff members from KS1 to Further Education. The group collaborates on changes to the Trust's policies and CPD offerings. As a group we are consistently trying to become proactive allies for Diversity, Equity and Inclusivity so that everyone at ATT can continue #TransformingLives.

N Bradnick-Thompson, Principal
North Walsall Primary Academy

I started at North Walsall Primary Academy in 2019 as Assistant Principal with responsibility of leading Teaching and Learning. As part of this role I lead Reading, Writing and Maths across the school and work collaboratively to develop our new leaders, support NQT's and Teacher Trainees as their Mentor. I am fortunate that my role allows me to work closely with staff across the whole school. I have pleasure of contributing to the curriculum approaches and experiences our children at North Walsall receive from the moment they start in Nursery, to when they leave in Year 6. Working within the Academy Transformation Trust, I have had the opportunity to complete my National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership (NPQSL) and SSAT Lead Practioner Accreditation. I work for a supportive Head Teacher and Academy Trust who value the importance of high quality CPD for staff their staff irrespective of their job title- we all move forward together. I am proud of the school community I work in and the opportunities we provide for our learners to achieve their full potential.

Enrichment at North Walsall Primary

North Walsall is an inclusive school and we are extremely proud of the enrichment opportunities we give to our children. We offer a wide range of trips offering the children a broad experience of cultural capital and enrichment. All of our children attend a minimum of 3 curriculum related trips per year (one per term), as well as a whole School trip to the Theatre at Christmas and a whole school trip the seaside in the Summer. For the past 2 years, we have offered our year 6 children the opportunity of a 3 day visit to a local Outdoor Education Centre, which prepares them for transition in to high school and encourages team building and independence. To ensure all of our children receive the same opportunities, we ensure our trips are affordable to all of our parents by part subsidising all of the trips we offer. As well as educational visits, we offer all of our children a free Breakfast Club and a wide range of After School Clubs, which include activities such as: various sports, cooking, a range of art and crafts and gardening. All clubs are available to all children and are free of charge.

Working at North Walsall Primary Academy is extremely rewarding. Enrichment plays a vital part in the every day lives of our children. Our main priority is ensuring the children not only receive a high standard of education, but are cared for and looked after by our amazing team of dedicated staff on a daily basis.
