About Us
The incoming Headteacher and Executive Team are looking for two reflective, ambitious and passionate Assistant Headteachers to take the school into its next stage of development, following its recent positive Ofsted inspection and appointment of new Headteacher (Good – June 2023).
Working closely with Headteacher and Trust senior leads as well as a dedicated team of talented practitioners, the successful candidates will be supporting the Headteacher to implement their vision for an over-subscribed special school in the middle of Taunton. The school comprises of three campuses, with the post holders working across predominantly two sites (Primary and Secondary/Sixth Form).
Each postholder will lead a portfolio, across the school, in areas such as: curriculum, behaviour, pastoral provision, outcomes. This will be allocated following appointment.
We are looking for someone who has:
- The ability, experience and confidence to lead portfolios across multi-sites;
- A clear vision for educational excellence and a demonstrable track record of wide-ranging teaching experiences within SEND – the post will include some teaching commitment (TBC)
- The reflective practice needed to make incremental gain, amid a challenging, yet supportive, school improvement offer;
- The desire to thrive across all sites but also relish the opportunity to formally collaborate with other leaders in local schools;
- An ability to think strategically and act decisively to benefit the learning of all pupils;
- A clear understanding of safeguarding in order to hold the school and Trust safeguarding team to account in the best interests of children and their families.
