Ruishton C of E Primary School are seeking to appoint a part-time teaching assistant to join our team of dedicated teaching support staff. This is on a fixed-term basis until 31st December 2024.

The Role

The role will involve working on a 1:1/small group basis to support Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 pupils with learning in core subjects, or more generally to support the teaching and learning of pupils in core subjects within the classroom across the school. The successful applicant will be adaptable in their role and able to show the necessary initiative and subject knowledge to support pupils.

Duties and Responsibilities

• To carrying out the duties of a Intervention TA, specifically working 1:1/small group basis

• Liaise with parents and be part of a happy, positive and inclusive learning environment.

• Use Inclusive Communication Tools (STC) to interpret and develop communication;

• Carry out therapy programmes as appropriate, including OT and SALT;

• Supervise children and actively promote positive behaviour choices;

• To uphold the Oak Partnership Code of Conduct;

• To uphold the Oak Partnership Safeguarding Policy and ensure own practice is in line with ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ We are a vibrant, supportive, happy and thriving community school with high expectations and a strong values driven ethos.

• Have experience leading teaching within a school setting

• Promote the inclusion of all pupils ensuring they have equal access to opportunities to learn

• Previous experience working in a school is preferable.

• Be self-motivated, with good communication skills.

Hours of work: 12.17 hours 38 weeks, term time only and Inset days
