All things are possible for one who believes (Mark 9:23)

St Georges Citizens | Stewards of the Earth

Our vision is that with faith and belief we can transform lives – not only in our own school but also beyond, in our local and international communities, creating global citizens of the future who are stewards of the earth. We want our children to leave St Georges with the knowledge and skills to flourish in life, and the dispositions to help others to flourish as well.

At St Georges Church School we are a family, with a strong community and a mission to create classrooms where children achieve more than they think possible.

We are looking to appoint 3 enthusiastic, organised and capable Teaching Assistants to join our innovative, happy school. We seek those experienced with working to support children with SEND and would be particularly interested in those with experience working to support children either 1:1 or in a small group with ASD, ADHD or PDA.

About our school:

• St Georges has 200 pupils (with an additional 40 children in the nursery). It enjoys an excellent reputation in the local community.

• Our school’s ecumenical foundation is supported by the Church of England, the Methodist Church and the Baptist Church, and our Christian vision and values lie at the heart of all that we do.

• We are proud of our school and of the work that has already been done to embed learning opportunities. Our leadership team and staff continue to focus on excellent teaching and on creating stimulating learning environments within a culture of high expectations.

We are looking for a successful Teaching Assistant who:

• Can supervise and provide learning support for pupils with or without special needs.

• Can assist with the development of individual education and behavioural plans setting challenging expectations for pupils to achieve learning goals.

• Can establish trusting relationships with pupils and interact with them according to individual needs and personalities.

• Can encourage pupils to interact with the class and engage in activities.

• Can provide feedback to pupils and teachers on pupil’s achievement, progress and any problems that arise.

• Can create and maintain an orderly and supportive environment, undertaking administrative tasks as needed.

• Can promote good pupil conduct encouraging pupils to take responsibility for their behaviour.

• Can support the use of technology in learning and develop pupils’ competence and independence in its use.

• Can prepare resources required for learning activities and assist pupils in their use.

• Can uphold policies and procedures relating to child protection and data protection.

• Can supervise pupils on school trips.

We can offer you:

• A strong school community with a distinctively Christian ethos, having a clear focus on children as individuals, united as an inclusive family.

• A vibrant and uplifting school, where pupils, staff and governors enjoy working together and where everyone is encouraged to achieve more than they thought possible.

• Friendly, happy and enthusiastic pupils who enjoy coming to school, behave well and are eager to learn, and who take pride in their school, their classmates and their teachers.

• An experienced and dedicated staff team, who work energetically and professionally to sustain the school improvement journey, embracing new ideas and opportunities to develop their professional skills.

• Excellent relationships between pupils and staff and between staff and governors, based on high levels of mutual respect, care and responsibility.

• A commitment to continued professional development for staff at all levels.

• The support of the Bath & Wells Multi Academy Trust, with exciting opportunities for a high level of collaboration and CPD. Schools work collaboratively for locally identified and driven school improvement and professional development.

• Benefits of working for the Bath & Wells Multi Academy Trust which include a generous pension scheme, enhanced sickness and parental benefits and a supportive working environment.
