An exciting opportunity has arisen at Oaklands for a Games Design lecturer to provide high quality teaching as part of our Media team.

We are looking for a Games Design Specialist to join our team and play a crucial role in the delivery of our Level 3 Games Design qualifications. In this position, you will In this position, you will plan, track and mark students across Year 1 & 2 and deliver creative and engaging classes. You will also be responsible for sharing industry practises and adhering to professional standards.
Key Responsibilities:
We are looking for a Games Design Specialist to join our team and play a crucial role in the delivery of our Level 3 Games Design qualifications. In this position, you will In this position, you will plan, track and mark students across Year 1 & 2 and deliver creative and engaging classes. You will also be responsible for sharing industry practises and adhering to professional standards.
The ideal candidate will have strong organisational and communication skills, relevant experience with Games Design software. You should be proficient in Microsoft Office and capable of managing multiple priorities effectively. Previous experience teaching is essential, along with a commitment to providing high-quality lessons.
• Personal tutor to Year 1 & Year 2 Games Design
• Plan, track and mark student assignments
• Give students feedback and support them to achieve their best
• Trouble shoot technical issues with relating software that may arise
• Liaise with parents regarding student progress including reports and parents’ evenings
• Work as part of the wider Media team
• Organise enrichment activities including trips related to subject area for example EGX London
• Liaise with Examining body for external moderation
Required Skills, Experience and Qualification.
• Degree in related subject within Games (3D Games Art/Animation or Games development)
• Experience teaching UAL qualifications preferred
• At least a Level 3 Teaching Qualification
• Industry knowledge with an understanding of the working pipeline
• Working knowledge of the Unity Game Engine and or Unreal Engine
• Working knowledge preferred in Scripting Language C# or C++
• Adobe suite software including Photoshop & Illustrator
• Autodesk Maya 3D modelling programme and/or Blender
• Games Design industry experience preferred
