Oaklands school is a special needs primary school and we are looking to appoint a new Midday Supervisory Assistant (MDSA) to join our team.

Our lovely children have significant learning difficulties, complex speech, language and communication needs, mostly on the autistic spectrum.

In this role, you will support our children during their lunchtime, support them with feeding, as well as indoor and outdoor play and learning.


We are looking for someone who:

• wants to work with children with special needs

• can communicate in English to be a language role-model for our pupils

• is kind, positive and willing to learn

• is enthusiastic and well-motivated

• can work as part of a team

We will give you Safeguarding and Health & Safety training if appointed, and you will occasionally need to be available for staff training but will have advance notice of any additional training sessions.

Working hours: 11.45am – 1.15pm Monday – Friday (term time only), which equals to 7.5 hours per week

Actual salary: £4,92.90 per annum (paid in 12 equal instalments)

There are 2 vacancies available. 1 is permanent and one is fixed term for 12 months with the hope of it being made permanent
