Principal Oasis Academy Brightstowe

Location: Bristol

Salary: Leadership Scale L25-L31

Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

Start Date: April/September 2026

Lead with Vision. Grow with Purpose. Transform a Community.

Are you ready to take the next bold step in your leadership journey? Oasis Academy Brightstowe is seeking an inspirational Principal to guide our thriving secondary school into its next exciting chapter. This is more than a job - it’s a chance to shape lives, elevate a community, and leave a legacy.

You’ll be joining a well-established Trust of 56 academies, where inclusion, collaboration and innovation are at the heart of everything we do. We don’t believe in isolated leadership; you’ll be supported by a network of experienced peers, a dedicated Regional Director, and access to professional development through the National Institute of Teaching (NioT).

Why Brightstowe?

  • An Academy with strong foundations and a calm, purposeful atmosphere
  • A school that serves its local community and its community are eager to learn
  • Every student has their own device, and enrichment is woven into the curriculum
  • Deep local partnerships and a shared commitment to social justice

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a resilient, visionary leader who:

  • Has a proven track record of school improvement and strategic leadership
  • Can inspire staff, students, and families with clarity, compassion, and conviction
  • Is passionate about inclusion, equity, and unlocking potential
  • Embodies the Oasis ethos and our 9 Habits, placing people and purpose at the heart of decision-making

You’ll co-design and deliver a strategic roadmap that takes Brightstowe from strength to strength academically, culturally, and socially. You’ll lead the development of a rich, community-responsive curriculum and foster a culture where every child can flourish.

What You’ll Get in Return

  • Leadership Scale L25-L31
  • Access to NioT training and Oasis-wide CPD
  • Opportunities to progress into national roles across Oasis Community Learning
