Salary: Grade E points 20 – 25 £25,849.95- £28,197.07per annum (FTE £30,188- £32,929) negotiated on appointment dependent on experience and qualifications

Working Pattern: 36 hour per week, daily hours will be discussed and agreed on appointment
Dysart School is an Outstanding special school for 150 pupils aged 4 to 19 who have a range of severe and complex learning difficulties. The School has high expectations for its pupils and believe there is no limit to their potential

In addition Dysart School runs two satellite sites next to mainstream schools in the local area to help meet the need for high-quality SEN places in the borough of Kingston.

We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Senior Teaching Assistant to join our outstanding team and contribute to the inclusive, child-centred learning environment we pride ourselves on.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support planning, delivery, and assessment of lessons, including covering classes during teacher absence
• Prepare and deliver lessons independently under a system of supervision, using ICT and communication aids effectively
• Manage and develop a specialist area within the school as agreed by SLT
• Collaborate with and manage Learning Support Assistants to support teaching and learning
• Provide personal care and appropriate medical interventions following school procedures
Key Requirements:
• Excellent numeracy and literacy skills, GCSE grade A – C or equivalent in Literacy and Numeracy
• Meet Higher Level Teaching Assistant standards or equivalent qualification, willingness to complete within the first year in post.
• Training in relevant learning strategies – literacy, TEACCH
• Makaton or other sign language accreditation
• Experience of working with children with a range of disabilities including autism
