Are you looking for a role which offers you new challenges and opportunities every day? We are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Year Leader to take on the every day pastoral care of our students in years 9 and 10. Our core values focus on respect, endeavour and success, and this new role within our team at Patchway Community School is key to helping students to achieve these values. The role involves working closely with young people every day, supporting them with all aspects of their school life including their attendance and punctuality, behaviour, uniform, equipment, safeguarding and welfare and, ultimately, their success in school.

You will have strong inter-personal skills because relationships with students, families and colleagues are at the heart of excellent pastoral care and they are a key strength of our school community: we care about every student and their family. You may have previously worked in a similar role, or you may be able to demonstrate in your current position that you are a great organiser, someone who is friendly and approachable, firm but fair and with lots of energy and patience! You should have strong communication skills and be able to understand, process and analyse data efficiently.

In the current situation we will be interviewing via an online platform, but we understand that for this key role it may be important for you to look around our school. If you would like to make a brief visit to our school, following our Covid-19 safety measures and after 2.45pm once students have left the site, then please contact our HR Advisor, Sara Harty (please see information pack for contact details).

Our Year Leaders are part of a large student support team and we will offer you training both within our school and trust to develop in this role. If you are keen to inspire young people and be an important part of their future, then this could be your next job.

This will be a permanent position, starting as soon as possible, working 35 hours per week, Term time only, plus INSETS.

Please read our information pack for more details.  The Olympus Academy Trust (OAT) is a partnership of schools, currently comprising nine South Gloucestershire schools; one all-through, three secondary and five primary academies.

The Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Candidates for vacant posts are expected to share this commitment.     All appointments will be subject to vetting, including an enhanced DBS check.

The Academy Trust is committed to ensuring equal opportunities, fairness of treatment, dignity, work-life balance and the elimination of all forms of discrimination in the workplace for all staff and job applicants.

Interested parties are warmly invited to submit an OAT Application Form outlining reasons for applying and suitability for the role. More information about Patchway Community School and the Olympus Academy Trust can be found on our website along with an application form.
