About Open Sky International

Open Sky International Paris is an English/French bilingual private school, situated in Boulogne-Billancourt on the outskirts of Paris. At the moment our classes continue up to Year 9 and in September we will open our first Year 10 cohort, who will take a range of GCSE and IGCSE qualifications. Our vision is to provide a bilingual education of excellence to our pupils, and our academic programme is built on the strongest aspects of a range of international curricula and teaching and learning methodology. We have high expectations and standards from the onset for all pupils and we aim for our curriculum to be rigorous, broad and engaging. Class sizes across the school are small and our pupils are courteous, hard-working and motivated. We are a fully international school, catering for both French and expatriate families, and we are proud of our multicultural school community. Our staff at all levels have high expectations of pupils, are enthusiastic and passionate about education and possess a sound understanding of best practice.

Our school is still relatively young and was the first international school opened by OSI, an ambitious and innovative new education group based in Paris. Further OSI schools will be opening in Egypt, Morocco and other locations internationally over the next five years.

The role

For mathematics, pupils will study for the Edexcel GCSE qualification. There is also an expectation that the successful candidate will contribute to OSI’s after-school programme, and there is excellent potential for the development of mathematics curriculum enrichment activities.

We now wish to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced teacher for maths on a full time and permanent basis from August 2021, to teach in our equivalent of KS3 and KS4. The details of the timetable will be confirmed after appointment. We are seeking a professional who:

  • Is a fluent or native English speaker, with experience of the requirements of the British curriculum.
  • Has a strong level of competence in French and will be able to teach aspects of the curriculum in French from the outset, to help the school achieve its bilingual vision.
  • Has experience of teaching to GCSE/IGCSE and ideally A level.
  • Has a good honours degree and qualified teacher status.
  • Is an inspiring professional who enthuses his or her classes.
  • Is enthusiastic and passionate about education, with a sound understanding of best practice.
  • Can demonstrate thorough curriculum knowledge and the capacity to teach their subject area with confidence.
  • Enjoys being a member of a team and always aims to work collaboratively.

As we are a bilingual school, all teachers are required to speak French. For teachers who need support, private lessons with a tutor will be provided by the school.

What does OSI offer its teachers?

The position comes with an attractive salary and support with housing costs if required. Candidates must have the right to work within the EU.

How to apply

Please complete the application form and we reserve the right to interview and appoint at any stage of the recruitment process. Early applications are therefore encouraged. For further details of working at OSI, please visit our website.
