Full Time Secondary Science and/or Maths Teacher required for our Communication and Interaction School

This is an exciting opportunity to change lives in a challenging but highly rewarding environment. Our staff are committed and dedicated to helping establish and grow this school as an outstanding provision for young people with communication and interaction needs.

If you are skilled and committed to adapting your teaching to meet the individual needs of students, come and join our team. The role will include being a form tutor, planning and delivering learning in Science and/or Maths within the secondary phase of the school with some work with primary phase pupils. All of our staff also support the delivery of our bespoke social communication curriculum and work to develop life skills for pupils preparing them for their transition to adult life.

The Fusion Academy, a school for children and young people aged 7-19 with communication and interaction needs and/or autism. The school has just achieved its final stage of growth and is offering support to 90 pupils. We are located in a purpose built school in Barwell. The Fusion Academy is part of a Multi Academy Trust called Open Thinking Partnership.

A flexible solution focussed approach to teaching young people of mainstream academic ability while addressing their communication and interaction barriers to learning is crucial.

Salary - MPS to UPS with SEN 1/2 allowance (depending on experience within specialist settings) - as a practitioner you will work with the other Science and Maths teacher within school to develop GCSE and Entry Level qualifications.

The start date for this position is 6th January 2025 (an earlier start day may be available).
