About The Role
Teacher - Summergil School - Permanent - Full Time - Term Time Only - £24,001 to £38,628 Dependant on qualifications and experience
As an Early Years Teacher at Summergil House School, you will create a warm, engaging and developmentally appropriate learning environment where every child can thrive. You will deliver a highly personalised curriculum that supports communication, sensory development, early literacy and numeracy, and social emotional growth.
You will work closely with learning support assistants, therapists, care staff and families to ensure each child receives consistent, holistic support across all areas of their development.
Your responsibilities will include:
Planning and delivering high quality, play based learning experiences
Adapting teaching to meet a wide range of developmental stages and needs
Creating a calm, structured and nurturing classroom environment
Using positive behaviour support strategies in line with school policies
Monitoring, assessing and recording pupil progress
Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and parents/carers
Supporting pupils’ wellbeing, including personal care where required
Promoting safeguarding, equality and inclusion at all times
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
GCSEs (A*C or equivalent), including English and Maths
A child centred approach and passion for Early Years education
Strong understanding of early childhood development
Excellent communication and classroom management skills
Ability to adapt teaching methods to support complex needs
Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
Desirable:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching in Early Years or specialist settings
Experience working with pupils with Autism, SEMH or additional learning needs
Confidence working within a multidisciplinary team
A creative, flexible and reflective approach to teaching and learning
