Overview

We place very strong emphasis on providing a nurturing and inclusive environment which is welcoming to all and that encourages children to be ‘motivated to learn, empowered to achieve'. We are located in the heart of the Ottershaw community on two adjoining sites sharing extensive school grounds and playing fields. Our children join us from a wide catchment area – including Ottershaw, Addlestone, Chertsey, Lyne and Maybury and we cater for children from 3 years of age in our nursery, up to Year 6 when children are 11 years old and move on to secondary school.

We are very proud of our children at Ottershaw and have created a ‘child-centred’ community which is friendly, caring and sensitive to every child’s individual needs. We offer a broad range of educational experiences enabling each child to achieve their full potential whilst in a happy and secure environment. The personal, social and emotional development of children is equally important to us as the academic and intellectual aspects of education.

About Us

Ottershaw CofE Junior School and Ottershaw C of E Infant School is an established 'hard' federation under the leadership of the Head, Mrs Jo Hastings. The two neighbouring schools are situated in the heart of the Ottershaw community enjoying a quiet residential location with the benefit of extensive grounds and playing fields. Both infant and junior are popular and successful schools with two-form entry and, although the infant school is the main feeder school, a small number of pupils do join KS2 from the surrounding area. At the infant school there is a maintained nursery and throughout the Foundation Stage, KS1 and KS2 an exciting and innovative curriculum is offered through the International Primary Curriculum.

Our Christian ethos is demonstrated by the open-door policy that enables families and the wider community to feel part of the school setting. Termly enrichment weeks bring a change to the timetable and new opportunities for the children to experience pottery, graphics, music, etc. and the IPC entry points offer a wide variety of topics whilst maintaining high academic standards. There are a range of extra curricular activities for the children to participate in during and after school. A Breakfast Club and an After School Club runs on a daily term time basis for pupils from both schools.
