1:1 Teaching Assistant – SEN
Salary: £14.40 per hour (£15, 368 per annum)
Hours: 23 hours per week
Contract: Fixed Term contract - 1 Year

Job Details:
An exciting opportunity has arisen to provide temporary and targeted SEND support to some of our children within our school. Please note: Due to the nature of this support, these contracts are fixed term until the end of the academic year, where support is reviewed again for the following year.
We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic individual, to join our SEN Teaching Assistant team, providing targeted support whilst successfully nurturing and inspiring our children. This role is varied, and we are looking for an adaptable, flexible and resourceful individual able to cope in a high-pressure environment and deal with constantly changing priorities. You will be working as part of an energetic and busy team to provide additional classroom based and behavioural support to children with additional learning needs. Experience of working with children in this capacity, as well as a caring and nurturing nature is essential.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will have the ability to relate well to children of all ages, promoting excellent behaviour standards and encouraging independence. You will have the opportunity to work alongside outstanding teachers, to observe and share best practice on a regular basis to further develop a career.
This position would suit an already experienced TA who has a passion for SEND and may already be working with children on a 1:1 basis. Alternatively, you may have wider experience of working with adults with additional needs, who is seeking to broaden their experience working with children.
The right candidate will have:
• GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above.
• Previous experience of working with childcare with Special Educational Needs from Early years to Key Stage 2 children in a school environment.
• Understand how to support the complex needs of children with behavioural, social and emotional difficulties
• Caring and nurturing nature
• Have high expectations and be committed to inclusion for all children and their families
• A proven ability to work on their own initiative.
• A high level of communication skills and the ability to relate positively to children and adults.
• The ability to use relevant technology/equipment to access learning
Job Requirements:
• Supporting children on a 1:1 or small group basis
• Supporting individual children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) under the instruction of teaching/senior staff to enable a child to access all areas of the learning
• To support assessment and evidence learning
• Working with the class teacher to create a stimulating classroom environment, displays and learning resources adapted to meet any additional needs.
