The governors of Pencoedtre High School are seeking to appoint an innovative, inspiring and passionate Head of Science to lead the department towards continued success and sustained development.

Pencoedtre High School is a 11-18 truly comprehensive School based on the M4 corridor in Barry, at the start of an amazing journey. The school is part of the Vale of Glamorgan's 21st Century School Strategy Project, benefiting from a purpose built £35 Million new school. The school is a vibrant mix of cultures and backgrounds. We have pupils from the full range of the academic spectrum including Additional Learning Needs, BESD, Hearing Impaired and Autism.

The science department has demonstrated a sustained drive for success, building each year to achieve even better outcomes for pupils. The department consists of a strong team, teaching in specialist science disciplines. The department also benefits from the support of skilled technicians. The role of Leader of Learning, Science, is crucial to long term whole school success and therefore is closely supported by our Senior Leadership Team.

The successful applicant will be a suitably qualified teacher or leader who is:

• Knowledgeable about Teaching, Learning and Assessment.
