The school has three fully-equipped workshops, with a variety of machinery and tools, offering students the resources needed to engage with the curriculum. From traditional hand tools to a dedicated hot works area, the Engineering workshop supports a broad range of projects. In addition, the department features, a number of Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) machines including several 3D printers and a laser cutter, enabling students to develop their skills in computer-aided design (CAD) and manufacturing.
Alongside these resources, we have a Construction space which is equipped for practical learning. Where students gain practical experience in trades such as carpentry and electrical work. They also benefit from an outdoor bricklaying area, where they can develop their bricklaying skills.
The AoLE runs numerous visits to enhance pupils’ learning. In recent years, pupils have had the opportunity to visit both Paris and Barcelona as part of the Expressive Arts Curriculum, and SPARC pupils have had the opportunity to visit the Williams F1 Team. Pupils studying Engineering have visited a range of local businesses to develop their understanding and knowledge of Engineering and the opportunities it provides.
