We are a vibrant and innovative day school providing exceptional learning experiences for children and young people from 3-19 with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), many with additional sensory impairments, physical difficulties or challenging behaviour. 

The school has recently been inspected by Ofsted (May 2023) and received a GOOD rating overall.

Nestled in the fast-growing Deepcut/Mindenhurst village, our school is dedicated to fostering inclusivity, empathy and collaboration across the whole school community.

Role overview:

As our School Business Manager, and a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of our school. You will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the school, as well as managing administrative functions to support our educational mission. This includes budgeting, financial planning, procurement, human resources, facilities management, and compliance with regulatory requirements. 

The work pattern is 36 hours per week Monday to Friday, term time only plus 2 additional weeks per year (41 weeks).

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and manage the school's annual budget, working closely with leadership as part of the Senior Leadership Team to allocate resources effectively and measure impact.

- Monitor financial performance and provide regular reports to stakeholders, identifying areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.

- Oversee procurement processes, ensuring compliance with procurement policies and seeking opportunities for strategic partnerships.

- Manage human resources functions, including recruitment, onboarding, payroll, and benefits administration.

- Coordinate facilities management, maintenance, and safety protocols to provide a safe and conducive learning environment for students and staff.

- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies, staying abreast of changes and implementing necessary adjustments.

Qualifications:

- Relevant degree or professional qualification in finance, business management or related field

- Level 4 diploma in School Business Management (previously known as CSBM or DSBM) or equivalent.

- Proven experience in financial management, budgeting, and accounting, preferably in an educational setting.

- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others towards achieving common goals.

- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.

- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and engage with diverse stakeholders.

- Knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory frameworks governing educational institutions.
