Curriculum Support Worker
32 hours per week
Salary Grade 7 £28598 (Actual Pro Rata: £21180 per annum)
Term Time Only Start Date – 1st September 2026
The Governors of Porthcawl Comprehensive School wish to appoint a Curriculum Support Worker to deliver bespoke curriculum support programmes which enable pupils to achieve the outcomes identified in their agreed curriculum plans. The post holder will support pupil progress and any curriculum modification for identified pupils in different year groups. The post holder will be based in the school’s curriculum support provision. This is a newly developed facility designed to provide bespoke interventions and learning.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES:
• Supervise pupils during and between lessons providing specific care to those pupils with additional needs - ensuring access to learning activities in a safe and supportive environment.
• Undertake intervention sessions to groups of pupils.
• Delivering prepared sessions of literacy and numeracy learning support according to pupils’ needs.
• Delivering prepared curriculum content for identified areas to support/strengthen pupil progress.
• Delivering interventions in the Curriculum Support Room and provide in-class support as required.
• Delivering and improving the Curriculum Support Facility as a learning environment.
• Contribute to the planning, delivery and evaluation of learning intervention programmes under the instruction of the ALNCo.
• Create and maintain a purposeful, orderly and supportive learning environment through adherence to school policy and procedures for learning.
• Monitor and assess pupils’ responses to learning and provide feedback to staff, pupils and parents on achievement and progress.
• Provide progress data at timely intervals during the academic year in line with the school’s data tracking systems.
• Participating in transition activities, assessing learners using intervention programmes to ensure an effective identification of future support.
• Inform parents during specific Parent Evenings (parental feedback sessions) outlining support provided within school related to specific interventions.
