Class Teacher (main scale)

We are looking for a teacher to join our friendly and hardworking team.

Potters Gate is a happy and thriving school which provides a good education and has fantastic, enthusiastic learners. We create opportunities to develop independence, confidence and collaboration, through creative and aspirational lessons.

We are seeking to appoint a teacher who has a passion for teaching and creating stimulating lessons. We welcome candidates who are prepared to include themselves in all aspects of school life. Any teacher will work closely with other teachers within the year group/key stage and potentially across both Potters Gate and St Andrew’s Infant school. Career development opportunities may also be available within the Good Shepherd Trust.

Closing date for applications is Friday 14th June 2024.

The interview process will consist of teaching observation, a task and an interview. Please see attached for the job description.

On 1st December 2017, Potters Gate became an academy school within the Good Shepherd Trust, a multi-academy trust sponsored by The Diocese of Guildford. From 1 September 2017 collaboration and co-operation between Potters Gate and St Andrew’s Infant School (an infant school based close to Potters Gate) was consolidated by the creation of a joint senior leadership and management team. The two schools work closely across Early Years and Key Stage 1, with joint planning and class activities and trips. From September 2019, Potters Gate opened a third year 3 class to provide feeder status to St Andrew’s and other local schools.

Potters Gate and St Andrew’s are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is subject to Enhanced Disclosure Procedures and all appointments are made subject to criminal record (DBS check) and references checks.
