As part of a restructuring of our site maintenance team, we are seeking to appoint a new member to the team who has carpentry skills and, ideally, some general site maintenance/building experience.

The post holder will undertake site maintenance and supervision duties around the school under the direction of the Estates Manager to ensure high standards of safety, tidiness and security are maintained at all times. They will be available for unlocking and locking the school facilities as part of a rota with other site staff.

The post will include maintenance of the school grounds and buildings; assisting with the supervision of students at lunchtime; being a member of the school’s first aid team; supporting whole school events (eg Open Evenings); assisting with emergency call outs (on a rota basis)

There is a considerable amount of flexibility in when the hours are worked, although these will usually be for 37 hours per week, 7 to 7.5 hours per day (with an unpaid 30-minute lunch break) within a range of 6.30am – 8.30pm Monday to Friday. Agreed overtime is payable for additional hours worked during evenings, weekends, school holiday periods or in responding to an out-of-hours emergency call out.
