Prior Heath is a welcoming and friendly school that enables both pupils and staff to thrive in a nurturing and supportive environment. As our most recent Ofsted report highlights, 'There is a sense of joy at Prior Heath Infant School.'

We believe that children learn best through play, active learning and real-life experiences and we are therefore looking for an enthusiastic and skilled facilitator of play to join our team. We have a vacancy for a positive, passionate and experienced SEND teaching assistant. The hours of work can be flexible and will be allocated taking into consideration personal preference alongside the needs of the school. Initially, this post will be temporary for 2 years.

You will support class teachers with the development and education of children in school and use routine supervision and care skills to support pupils in class and during breaktimes.

Curriculum Support

To assist teachers with classroom organisation and to undertake directed work with individual pupils (including those with SEND) and small groups.

Pupil Support

To assist teachers in meeting the needs of pupils, whilst encouraging and supporting them to demonstrate our school values of kindness, responsibility, respect, teamwork and perseverance.

Breaktimes

To assist in the supervision of children, and model and facilitate play to ensure that they are happy and safe during breaktimes.

General

To provide general support to the working environment of the school, to promote the school's aims and ethos in all aspects of work undertaken.

First Aid

To provide first aid and basic intimate care for our pupils.

The successful candidate would preferably have GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above or an equivalent qualification. Evidence of working within Early Years and / or Key Stage 1 is essential.

Visits to the school are encouraged and welcomed. Our Headteacher, Mrs Chivers, would be delighted to show you around.

Completed applications and equality forms should be returned to the confidential email address. Please note that interviews will be arranged upon receipt of applications from suitable candidates, therefore you are urged to apply asap.
