The Role

Queen Katharine Academy are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to support the progress of students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in class and/or in small groups to overcome barriers to learning.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for adapting and delivering learning activities with individuals or small groups who would benefit from a different learning approach.

The Person

The successful candidate will:

• Have experience of working with children, preferably in a secondary school setting

• Have an excellent knowledge and understanding of different learning styles, the needs of children with additional learning needs, and behaviour management strategies

• Be adaptable and able to respond effectively to a diverse range of situations and needs

• Have the ability to communicate appropriately and clearly at all levels within the Academy, including staff, students, parents, visitors and external organisations
