Job Overview
We are seeking to appoint a Temporary Assistant Head Teacher to add support to the leadership team whilst it goes through a period of transition and lead on Maths whilst our current Maths lead is on maternity leave. You will work alongside the Associate Headteacher to support in leading and managing Radford Academy, as well as being an enthusiastic and committed teacher with high expectations. You will teach in year 5 for the rest of the academic year and then in KS2. You will be expected to play a major role under the overall direction of the Associate head teacher in developing the strategic direction of the school. You will assist with managing staff and with organisational requirements of the school. You will be expected to be a positive role model for other staff members, with strong teaching practices as well as supporting good behaviour management. You will on occasion deputise for the Associate Headteacher.
The right candidate will have:
- Qualified Teacher Status
- Evidence of commitment to continuing professional development
- Proven experience teaching Year 6
- Ability to demonstrate vision and strategic leadership of a core subject area/key stage/school
- Knowledge of a range of strategies to raise standards/pupil achievement
- Ability and willingness to work collaboratively and supportively within the school team, making positive contributions to assessment and the School Improvement Plan as well as working using your own initiative
