Welcome to our Easton nursery…

Raised in Bristol at Easton Community Centre is a 67 place day nursery that opened its doors at the beginning of 2018. We provide childcare and early years education for children aged 6 months – 5 years old, but that’s not all we do.

We offer a hand for your child to hold as they begin their education, and we help prepare them fully for what’s to come. We offer play-led learning in a space that prioritises a nurturing environment, with a focus on nature and nutrition as your children takes their first steps towards school.

A nurturing environment designed to spark imagination

Built as a nursery when the Easton Community Centre opened in 1989, the annexe has now been fully refurbished to return it to its original purpose. We are restoring its history in order to give it a bright future.

Speaking of bright, the main room is big, light and airy, but not at the expense of its warm and intimate atmosphere. Beyond the double doors lies a private courtyard for the children to explore – full of plants, a mud kitchen and plenty of space to run around in complete safety.

Our Head of Nursery, Nicola Brimble, is a keen forest school teacher and this wonderful natural environment surrounding the building is a gift for her as well as the children.

Spread over two floors, our nursery is made fully accessible by a lift.

The Raised In way

We’re raising standards in early years education and childcare…

Healthy and Happy

Secure attachments and positive relationships. Our nursery provision has a clear key person system and we prioritise children’s emotional wellbeing. Above all else children should feel secure, comfortable and a sense of belonging.

At Raised in Bristol we recognise the importance of a balanced, nutritious diet in a child’s development.

As well as providing a chef-cooked menu that supports the children’s nutritional needs, we teach them about healthy lifestyles too.

All of our Raised in Bristol nurseries incorporate outdoor play and access to natural spaces as a key element of the design.

Adventurous Learners

Communication and language

We help children make themselves heard in the world and listen to others too –both adults and peers. It helps to centre them in the world.

Physical development

Our curriculum reflects the importance of activity and play in young children’s learning and development – there’s plenty of running, jumping and climbing trees.

Personal, social and emotional development

Our prioritising of the pastoral is geared towards helping your child to make relationships, manage relationships and build self-confidence.

Literacy

These are key skills, and we take them very seriously. That’s why we focus on engaging ways to handhold children on their first steps through reading, writing…

Mathematics

… and ’rithmetic.

Understanding the world

We offer a stimulating environment, which engages the children and encourages their curiosity about the world through observation, critical thinking and problem solving.

Expressive arts and design

We encourage children to be inquisitive, imaginative and questioning learners, exploring the world through a range of mediums including music and art.

About Raised In

Our story

raised_in_logo.png

We began our story in Bristol by creating our network of Raised in Bristol nurseries across the city, bringing both financial stability to community hubs and at the same time delivering an excellent and much-needed service. We’re looking forward to taking the Raised In model to towns and cities outside Bristol, supporting more communities and providing high-quality Early Years Education and care for working families in new areas.

Supporting community spaces has always been at the heart of what we do. Community spaces are even more essential following the COVID-19 pandemic and the changes to working life and community which have followed. While Raised In continues to grow, we remain dedicated to our aims of supporting vital community spaces for the benefit of all, while also delivering the very best in early years education.
