We currently have an exciting opportunity for a committed and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant practitioner to join our team, providing key SEN support within the classroom on a 1:1 basis and working closely with other teaching staff to ensure provision is effective and that learning needs are met.

Job overview

As a Learning Support Assistant, you’ll provide personalised SEN provision on a 1:1 basis, supporting individual pupils in accessing the curriculum at an appropriate level and adapting the learning to make it accessible for pupils with specific needs. This role also involves providing pastoral support, and you’ll monitor progress to feed back to the class teacher whilst working closely with relevant staff to ensure an individual can achieve to the fullest extent.

Working Pattern - Varies according to EHCP need but can be from Full Time (37.5 hours) per week but part time hours would also be considered, term time only including INSETs​

Job requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent as a minimum
  • GCSE English and Maths at C grade or above
  • Experience of supporting pupils with SEN and utilising strategies to manage behaviours and meet needs, including supporting speech and language
  • Awareness of Child Safeguarding and the latest SEN policies to implement effective provision, including working with outside agencies to deliver EHCP provisions
  • Ability to effectively communicate on the pupil’s progress, with strong written and verbal communication skills
