Riverbank Academy currently have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated practitioner to join the team as a Health Care Assistant, supporting class leads and teachers with responsibility for the development and educational provision of learners.
Job overview
You’ll be responsible for working in partnership with class leads and support staff to support the individual care of students. You will provide structured support and guidance for students in the development of their independence , physical and social needs. You will provide supervision, personal care and moving and handling support for students with SEND. Assisting with lunchtime supervision and after school and break duties as part of the rota.
Job requirements
- A desire to continue to improve literacy, numeracy and ICT skills, with Grade C achieved in English and Maths
- Qualification to A level (AS/A level) is desirable
- Experience leading lessons within a community, mainstream or special school context
- Ability to walk long distances and stand for long periods of time to support student transitions around school and enrichment activities
- Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work in tandem with teaching staff
- Ability to be empathetic and understanding to the needs of students
