GRADE C: £23,115 - £24,140 FTE / £20,279 - £21,178 Actual salary

37 hours per week (8am to 4pm Monday to Thursday and 8am to 3:30pm Friday), term time plus one week

To start as soon as possible

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for the right person to join a supportive team who work collaboratively to contribute to the continued success of the school. We are seeking to appoint, as soon as possible, an Administration Assistant to provide support with all aspects of school administration.

Key responsibilities will include providing administrative support for a variety of areas including departments, pastoral leaders and senior management; the administration of school trips and events; as well as support for our front of house area as required. Liaising with school staff and external parties as appropriate will also be an important part of this varied role. You may also be required, on occasion, to assist with any other relevant duties which might include helping to set up school events, supporting whole school administrative requirements or covering the school reception.

We are looking for a proactive individual with a ‘can do’ attitude and the ability to help identify improved systems within our school operations as well as assist in the smooth running of our established processes. Responsibilities will not be restricted to those listed above and the right candidate will require a high level of flexibility.

The successful candidate will also have

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work to deadlines
  • Experience using Microsoft Office including Word and Excel
  • Highly organised, accurate and detail conscious work ethic
  • Ability to use discretion and respect confidentiality
  • A willingness to train as a first aider

Experience of working with SIMS would be beneficial but training can be provided. A knowledge and understanding of the education sector and/or experience of working within a school environment would be desirable.

This vacancy is full time and will be term time plus one week, to normally include one day at the end of the summer term and to start one day earlier than the start of term in September, with flexibility for the right candidate.

We offer a competitive salary, a supportive and friendly working environment and a range of benefits including opportunities for continued professional development, a cycle to work scheme, on site free parking, membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme and an Employee Assistance Programme.

Robert May’s School is a popular 11-16 Academy school in a beautiful and easy-to-access part of Hampshire. We have a strong record of academic achievement and our ethos of mutual respect, hard work and attention to excellence is well known in the area.
