We are looking to appoint an outstanding and highly motivated School Office Manager to join our excellent front office team as soon as possible to ensure the smooth and efficient running of our busy school office.

This is a newly created role and is therefore an exciting opportunity for the right person to be able to positively build on existing administration systems and processes. The role is full term and term time plus 3 weeks (42 working weeks).

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and developing a hardworking and effective team of administration (including trips and visits), reception and first aid staff, directing and undertaking tasks in line with operational needs. The School Office Manager will contribute to all aspects of the team’s areas of responsibility, providing support where needed to team members.

You will ideally have previous school administration experience and will be enthusiastic and conscientious with well-developed administrative and communication skills.

Our ideal candidate will:

  • Have previous experience in a senior administration role, ideally with some line management experience.
  • Be able to lead, coach and motivate a team of staff.
  • Have a positive, can-do approach.
  • Possess organisational skills with an eye for detail.
  • Demonstrate and model outstanding customer service.
  • Display resilience, empathy and act with a professional, calm and considered approach.
  • Be able to prioritise, delegate and monitor effectively.
  • Think creatively and imaginatively to solve problems and identify opportunities.
  • Be flexible, adaptable and open to new ideas.
  • Be able to work under their own initiative.
  • Have strong IT skills using Microsoft Office / Google suite (experience of working with school management information systems would be helpful).

In return, we can offer a:

  • Competitive salary with membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme.
  • Commitment to managing staff workload and wellbeing.
  • Friendly and supportive working environment.
  • Commitment to opportunities for your professional development.
