We are always happy to meet potential applicants prior to interview; please don’t hesitate to contact us if you would like any further information or to visit the school.

The Business and Economics Department at Salesian

Our Business & Economics Department is dynamic, progressive and has Learning and Teaching at the heart of everything it does. We are exceptionally proud of our results:

  • Economics A-Level - 91% A*-C
  • Business A-Level - 97% A*-C
  • GCSE Business - 81% 9 - 5
A Level Economics is a popular A level choice and, due to increased uptake of the subject this year, we are now looking to appoint an additional teacher to the department.

We also offer A Level and GCSE Business, both of which are very popular. We started teaching the Level 1/2 BTEC Tech Award in Enterprise in September 2019, with our first set of results this year. The department also delivers the Level 3 BTEC in Enterprise & Entrepreneurship at Key Stage 5.

Extra-curricular activities run by the department include annual visits for A level students to the Mini Factory in Oxford. Young Enterprise is offered to year 12 as part of our weekly Enrichment afternoon, which gives students the chance to run their own business and compete with other schools around the area. Salesian has a strong record of success at regional level.

The department plays a lead role in the Teach South East SCITT programme and we therefore have opportunities for colleagues at all stages of their career development, from NQTs to those seeking positions of responsibility such as mentoring, training and developing others.

We are extremely proud of our department at Salesian and look forward to welcoming a colleague who is passionate about the progression of our students both academically and spiritually.
If you have any further queries, please contact Miss Clare Forman, Assistant Headteacher.
