About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Teacher of Carpentry and Joinery to join our growing and highly successful department at Salford City Skills – City Skills Centre. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to one of the most established curriculum areas within the College. We are looking for full time and part time teachers within this department and applicants may apply without prior teaching experience providing they have relevant industry experience, as support and training for the right candidate can be offered.
The successful candidate will deliver high-quality teaching and learning across a range of programmes, including Levels 1 -3 to full-time learners, as well as adult education provision. You will play a key role in supporting learners to develop the technical knowledge, practical skills, and professional behaviours required for a successful career in the construction industry.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging and effective teaching across Carpentry & Joinery programmes (Levels 1–3 and adult learners)
• Plan, prepare, and assess learning to meet curriculum and awarding body standards
• Support and motivate learners to achieve their full potential
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and industry-relevant learning environment
• Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement
• Work collaboratively as part of a strong and supportive teaching team
