Admissions & Enrolment Coordinator
We are seeking an organised and proactive Admissions & Enrolment Coordinator to join our Admissions team at Sandwell College. Reporting to the Admissions Manager, this is an exciting opportunity for an individual with excellent coordination and administrative skills to play a key role in ensuring a smooth and efficient admissions and enrolment process for all applicants.
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and supervising the day-to-day operations of the Admissions team, ensuring that applications are processed accurately and efficiently. You will also engage regularly with potential learners, provide high-quality Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG), and ensure a welcoming and professional service at all times.
Responsibilities
• Coordinate and supervise the admissions team and ensure all functions and processes are covered
• Oversee the screening and processing of applications in line with college procedures
• Liaise with potential learners and curriculum staff to arrange interviews and provide updates
• Ensure accurate and timely updating of applicant records on the Management Information System
• Supervise general administrative duties, including handling post, reception cover, and switchboard operation
• Support the organisation of open days, enrolment events, and other college recruitment activities
• Ensure data is entered, stored, and handled securely and confidentially
• Train and support Admissions Officers in team operations and procedures
• Provide effective and timely Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) to potential learners
• Undertake training and continuous professional development as required
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
• GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (minimum grade C / Level 2)
• Experience of working in a busy administrative or customer service environment
• Experience in a supervisory or coordination role (desirable)
• Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and database systems
• Excellent communication, organisation, and team-working skills
• Experience of handling money and financial transactions (desirable)
• Ability to plan effectively and work to deadlines under pressure
• A positive, professional, and customer-focused approach
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends to support key college events
