We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity to join the Early Years and Education team at Sandwell College as a Trainer/Assessor. This is a rewarding role for someone passionate about developing others and delivering high-quality training within the Early Years and Teaching Assistant sectors.

Responsibilities

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed profession to lead the assessment engaging Early Years and Education programmes aligned with the college prospectus. In this role, you’ll deliver underpinning knowledge to students, and plan for, assess and give feedback to learners on the assessment decision you have made. Also providing a point of communication for students, employers and staff.

You will use one File and ensure any course related documentation is maintained to a high standard in accordance with the requirements of the College, Department and Awarding Bodies

It is also expected that you will maintain your industry expertise and understanding of curriculum developments A will be required to participate in recruitment and selection activities for students during the year.

There may also be additional tasks related to the job role e.g., other short courses, may be allocated by the Line Manager to fulfil contracted hours.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:
  • A minimum Level 3 qualification in Childcare or a relevant Early Years subject
  • A recognised Assessor qualification (D32/33, A1 or equivalent)
  • Experience working within the Early Years or Education sector
  • Experience assessing Early year and childcare programmes
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • The ability to inspire and motivate learners
  • Confidence using ILT and e-portfolio platforms for assessment
  • A clean driving licence and the use a car
