Salary: CSET 12 £25,185 FTE per annum. £20,784 prorated
Severn Beach Primary School is looking for a dedicated and energetic Preschool Assistant to join our Early Years team. This is an exciting opportunity to help realise our shared ambition of delivering a great education for every child within a caring and stimulating environment.
About the role
Working under the guidance of the Preschool Leader, you will play a vital role in the daily lives of children aged 2 to 5. Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
Assisting in the planning and delivery of activities that meet children’s learning and developmental needs.
- Helping to prepare snacks that meet dietary requirements and maintaining resources to ensure the setting runs safely and smoothly.
- Working alongside the wider EYFS team and wraparound care lead to provide high-quality provision across the extended school day (7:30 am–6:00 pm).
- Ensuring all policies—particularly those regarding safeguarding, Health & Safety, and OFSTED regulations—are followed consistently.
- Maintaining positive relationships with families and the wider local community.
About you
You will be someone who brings a passion and excitement for teaching and learning, paired with a calm, flexible approach and a sense of humor. We value reliability and motivation, particularly the ability to remain resilient under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude that motivates the pupils around you. Furthermore, you should show a willingness to engage in ongoing professional development and work flexibly within a team to support the school’s wider community.
We are looking for a candidate who possesses a strong foundational knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and a clear understanding of the statutory requirements concerning Ofsted, Equal Opportunities, and Child Protection. You should have a good general standard of education and ideally your background includes experience working with children between the ages of 2 and 5 in a school or group setting.
