We are a vibrant and welcoming small infant school situated in Shalford, just outside Guildford and close to the A3. Shalford Infant & Nursery School is a one form entry infant school of 112 children with 21 staff, in small village community.

We are looking for a School Business Manager to support the delivery of effective and efficient educational provision within our successful school.

The post holder will lead on finance, administration, personnel and premises management and will be an active member of the school leadership team, working closely with the head teacher, governors and the Learning Partners Academy Trust. 

The school seeks a strategic leader with experience in financial and operational or project management. Prior experience in a school setting and/or an accounting or SBM qualification are desirable but not essential. Applicants should be able to lead a team, and to interact positively with stakeholders at all levels.

The School Business Manager role is paid on LPT8 which is FTE £35,859 to £38,724  . Actual salary, depending on skills and experience, will be £19,991 to £21,588,  22 hours per week for 41 weeks per year (term time, INSET days, plus 2 weeks) Working hours to be confirmed.

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT:

  • Will be a confident and motivated leader with the ability and knowledge to take strategic responsibility for finance, HR and premises across the school
  • Will be able to build strong relationships with the members of the , Governors and staff and develop a supporting network of SBMs from other schools in the Learning Partners  Academy Trust
  • Will be self-motivated and very well organised, able to juggle a varied workload to tight deadlines, with a strong attention to detail
  • Will be able to work independently and with the minimum of supervision but also be a strong team player
