The children, staff and governors of The Newlands Federation are looking for a caretaker to work in our friendly village school in Shere. The Newlands Federation is a partnership of Clandon Primary School and Shere Infants School & Nursery. The federation offers all staff the chance to collaborate across schools and the opportunity for career development within our partnership.

Start Date: ASAP

Contract: Permanent

Pay Grade: PS4

Salary: FTE: £24,275 (£12.93 per hour)

Hours: 7.5 hours per week (4:30 to 6:00, 5 days per week*)

*We can be flexible with the exact start/finish time, but it does need to be an early evening role . We will consider candidates who don’t want to work all five days.

Working for our Premises Manager, your responsibilities will include:

• Daily locking up of the Shere school buildings

• Basic grounds maintenance/gardening tasks including sweeping, removing leaves/debris

• Regular health and safety checks of buildings, grounds, fixtures and fittings

• Ensuring the site can be accessed safely during adverse weather conditions

• Moving furniture & supplies when required to support school activities.

This is a fundamental role in ensuring the safety of our staff, children & visitors & would suit an individual with practical skills who enjoys being active. Please be aware the role will involve some lone working, so does need someone who is comfortable with this and is self-motivated.

The wellbeing of all staff is a core focus for us. Supporting our staff to maintain their work life balance in a way that suits their individual needs is a priority for school leaders across the federation.

We can offer:

• The opportunity to work as part of a dedicated and supportive team, in school and across our federation.

• A real commitment to your work life balance and wellbeing.

• Excellent professional development.

• A diverse cohort of brilliant children.

As head teacher, I warmly invite you to visit our little school. However, I must warn you that you will fall in love with Shere; I certainly have. Please call the School Office to book a visit.

Please note that we may interview strong candidates prior to the advert closing date, so if you are interested in this role please apply as soon as possible
