SEN SWIMMING TEACHER

Sherwood Park School is a special school with high aspirations for all its pupils. We pride ourselves on putting the child at the centre of everything we do.

We are an all age (3-19) Foundation Special School for pupils with Severe/ Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties and /or disabilities (SLD/PMLD), as well as pupils who are on the Autistic spectrum (ASD) with complex needs. The school is unique, and comprises of the Sherwood Park and Sherwood Hill campuses to meet the highly individualised needs of each of the learners.

We are looking for a Swimming Teacher with successful teaching experience who has high expectations of what children and young people with profound / severe learning disabilities and autism can achieve.

You must have Swimming teachers Association (STA) Level 2 Award or Certificate, Amateur Swimming Association (ASA) Swimming Teacher Level 2 and Current Rescue Test or National Pool Lifeguard Qualification.

The overall purpose of the post is to take specific responsibility and accountability for the day to day management and organisation of the swimming lessons at the Sherwood Park School for our pupils

You will plan and deliver high quality swimming lessons for learners from both of our campuses. This will include planning lessons for beginners, improvers and advanced swimmers, taking into account the individual needs of each learner. In doing so, you will identify ways to improve swimmers' performance across the school.
