You will be employed by the trust which consists of five schools led by Sidney Stringer Academy. The schools are Radford Primary Academy, Ernesford Grange Community Academy, Riverbank Academy (Special School), Sidney Stringer Primary School and Sidney Stringer Academy.

We are looking to appoint an Assistant Education Welfare Officer to join our team.

Job overview

To work as part of the Attendance Team to support the academy’s attendance strategy. The postholder will undertake a range of duties, including home visits, absence follow up, mentoring, administrative tasks and record keeping, to support improved attendance for students in Years 7 to 11.

The Assistant Education Welfare Officer will work under the direction of the Attendance Lead and Education Welfare Officer, supporting students, families and staff to address barriers to attendance and ensure that attendance concerns are identified, recorded and escalated appropriately.

Job requirements

  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to speak confidently and professionally with parents, carers, students, staff and external agencies
  • The ability to build positive relationships with students and families
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage records accurately
  • Good IT skills, including the ability to use spreadsheets, email and school based systems
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to build good working relationships with a range of colleagues
  • Experience of working in a school or education setting
  • Knowledge of attendance processes, safeguarding procedures or pastoral systems

Hours

Monday to Thursday 8.30 am to 4.30 pm and Friday 8.30 am to 4.00 pm
