Our three-week immersive internship is your chance to gain hands-on experience, professional development, and a behind-the-scenes look at how schools operate.

Developed by education experts, this programme combines real classroom experience with structured learning sessions delivered by our SCITT team. You’ll be fully integrated into one of our secondary schools and supported every step of the way by experienced mentors.
What You’ll Experience
This isn’t just an internship - it’s an opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of education and discover what makes teaching so rewarding.
Over three weeks, you’ll:
● Step into the Classroom: Support lessons, work with students, and experience the energy of real teaching environments.
● Explore School Life: Go beyond the classroom to understand how schools operate, from leadership decisions to pastoral care.
● Learn from Experts: Join interactive sessions led by education professionals on topics like classroom strategies, career pathways, and teacher development.
● Build Your Skills: Take part in employability workshops and gain practical insights that will boost your confidence and CV.
● Create and Reflect: Complete a meaningful project based on your experiences and present it during our end-of-programme Celebration Session.
● Network for Your Future: Connect with mentors, school leaders, and peers who share your passion for education.
Programme Details
Application Deadline: 27th March 2026.
Dates: Monday 22 June – Friday 10 July 2026 (please ensure you are available for the full three weeks)
Salary: £455 per week / £1,365 total
Locations: Secondary schools across Coventry, rugby and Leamington.
Eligibility
You will need to
■ be interested in teaching chemistry, computing, design and technology, maths, physics or modern foreign languages
■ be an undergraduate in your second, third or final year, or a master’s student, studying for a degree in or related to one of the above subjects
■ be 18 or older by time you start your internship (Summer 2026)
■ have a right to work in the UK – if you’re an international student, check your visa as many student visas allow you to work 20 hours per week during term time and full-time during holidays

Successful interns are guaranteed an interview for our Teacher Training Programme, and our Recruitment and Learning & Development teams will continue to support you beyond the internship.
