You will be employed by the trust which consists of five schools led by Sidney Stringer Academy. The schools are Radford Primary Academy, Ernesford Grange Community Academy, Riverbank Academy (Special School), Sidney Stringer Primary School and Sidney Stringer Academy.
We are looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to join our Learning Support Team, to develop an understanding of the special educational needs of the student/s concerned.
Approximately 20% of the students at the Academy are identified as SEND and within this there is a varied spectrum of additional needs. We strive to ensure that all students have equal access to a broad and balanced curriculum and our LSAs are integral to this.
Job overview
To work with ALT Line manager to implement learning programmes and activities to support individuals or groups of students with behavioural needs. This work may take place in the classroom, in the Learning Support Faculty or in other provision across the academy.
Job requirements
- Good numeracy/literacy skills
- Experience of working with children with behavioural needs, preferably at secondary age
- A positive interest in working with students, and an ability to inspire them
- Ability to build good working relationships with a range of colleagues
- A well-developed sense of responsibility
- General understanding of National Curriculum and other basic learning programmes
