A new opportunity has arisen for a flexible and resourceful Senior Science Technician to join our team at Sidney Stringer Academy, playing a crucial role in supporting the wider Science department with preparation and assistance with Science-related materials as well as facility maintenance.
Job overview
You’ll be responsible for Leading the technical support for the Science faculty, ensuring the delivery of exceptional service to staff and contributing to the high-quality teaching and learning of science at Sidney Stringer Academy.
Job requirements
- Level 3 qualification in a science-related subject (e.g., BTEC, A-Level, or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of science equipment, materials, and practical procedures in biology, chemistry, and physics.
- GCSEs in Mathematics, English, and Science (Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent).
- A current First Aid qualification or willingness to complete training within the first year of employment.
- Proven experience working as a Science Technician or in a similar technical support role within an educational setting.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
- A flexible and adaptable attitude to changing tasks and priorities.
