An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our committed and dedicated Site and Facilities team at The Sir Robert Woodard Academy as an Apprentice Site Assistant. We are looking for a polite, physically fit and hard-working individual, with a positive ‘can do’ approach, to join us and the site team as soon as possible,
This is a full time, fixed term, position: 37 hours per week over Monday to Friday, 52 weeks per year, with 25 days annual leave. SRWA offer an Enhanced Apprentice Pay Rate of £6.56 per hour (actual salary circa £12,000 per annum) (well over the National Minimum Wage of £4.30p.h.) from the start of the Apprenticeship programme, irrespective of age; after 12 months, those aged 19 or over will receive a higher hourly rate in line with National Minimum Wage. The fixed term contract is approximately 15 months duration, but with the potential for a permanent role on successful completion for an exceptional candidate.

The successful post-holder will:-
• Be well-presented with strong interpersonal skills and a good level of fitness
• Have relevant skills/experience & able to do a range of duties, including some heavy lifting
• Show initiative, work well under pressure and be able to multi-task
• Be a team player who will consistently implement Academy policies
• Understand the importance of maintaining confidentiality
• Relate well to young people and adults alike
• Work flexibly and be comfortable with changing shifts and priorities.
Alongside the school site assistant role, 20% of the 37 weekly contracted working hours will be allocated to training for a Level 2 Facilities Services Operative qualification, delivered by Academies Enterprise Trust. During the Apprenticeship you will be assigned a Trainer Assessor to work with you on the Apprenticeship programme. You may also be required to complete Level 2 English and Maths Functional Skills qualifications (this will be determined by existing qualifications and will not be part of the 20% study allocation, so must be completed in your own time).
