Welcome to St John Fisher Catholic Primary School

A message from our Headteacher

At St John Fisher Catholic Primary School we are committed to inspiring and developing confident, independent individuals who take ownership of their learning and are well prepared for the next stage of their education journey. We extend our curriculum in order to provide a wide range of opportunities for pupils to experience and enhance success. The message of Christ’s love is at the heart of all that we do.

Our core values:

We welcome, respect and nourish each individual as a unique creation of God.

We set high standards and celebrate the achievements of everyone.

We are passionate about developing enthusiastic, lifelong learners who relish challenge.

We develop children who are well prepared for life in modern society with confidence, resilience and tolerance.

We promote personal and spiritual growth through prayer and reflection.

Some of the feedback from our parents and pupils...

"Our school is great. It's a lovely community where we can all interact with each other. The teachers always listen to our needs and help us. I love this school" Year 6 pupil

"I would recommend the school to another parent for the wonderful friendly and helpful atmosphere between parents and teachers" Year 2 parent

'There is a wonderful atmosphere and community at St John Fisher, a nurturing environment which allows the children to grow at their own pace. Most important of all, children are happy at school, love their teachers and are proud of their achievements. We couldn't ask for more than that!' Parent questionnaire during Ofsted Inspection, 2017

Long term strategic vision

The governors of the school are responsible for setting its long term strategic direction and vision. They formulate a 5 year plan, based on the views of key stakeholders and recommendations from inspections. More information about this, and the annual objectives drawn from the 5 year plan can be found in the document below.

We are delighted to work in partnership with 'Down the Woods' Forest school. Allowing our children to connect to the natural environment using our large pond area, playing field, wooded areas and Sherwood park wood.

Come rain or shine, the children will experience learning outside of the classroom and under the trees.
