Communication Support Worker

We are looking for a highly motivated Communication Support Worker who is committed to raising standards and maintaining our very high expectations.

The successful candidate will be hardworking, creative, energetic and an excellent practitioner who has specific expertise in supporting the communication and learning needs of a hearing-impaired pupil (British Sign Language, speech and Cochlear Implant user) and to assist teachers, staff and school in their work with the child. Their professionalism and dedication will enable our students and pupils to achieve more than they believe possible.

They will work as part of the Skills for Learning, Skills for Life (S4L, S4L) team alongside other Teaching Assistants and will be committed to ensuring Quality First Teaching and Learning through implementing in-class support, access arrangements and interventions, with the guidance of the SENCO as appropriate.

The S4L, S4L team consists of an Assistant Principal for Inclusion, SENCo, Assistant SENCo, and a team of Teaching Assistants.

This position is initially fixed term for one year assigned to a specific young person. There is the possibility to extend the term and follow the young person who is starting in Year 7.

HOURS OF WORK AND PAY SCALE

30 hours per week (Mon-Fri 8:15AM - 2:45PM), 39 weeks per year (term time plus one week to be worked in agreement with the Assistant Principal)

Grade 9 Points 19-22 Full Time Equivalent £29,784.00 - £32,004.00

(Actual Salary £20,656.00 - £22,196.00)
