We are seeking to appoint a confident, capable and experienced Cook to join our team at St Mary's College.
You will be an organised and hardworking person who can be flexible and adaptable to changing situations and work calmly and effectively under pressure. You will be responsible for preparing and cooking nutritious and healthy meals for our staff and students, according to food standards and budget guidelines.
The Catering Team at St Mary's College caters for approximately 2,000 students and staff on a daily basis. As our Head Cook you will work under the direction of the Trust Catering Manager, and you will be supported by the supervisory team and a team of experienced Catering Assistants.
The successful candidate must be punctual, reliable and trustworthy and feel comfortable working both unsupervised and within a team.
The successful candidate will:
• Take pride in the meals they prepare and produce
• Be able to lead a team of people
• Operate a clean and hygienic kitchen
• Be passionate about good food
• Hold relevant food hygiene certification, be aware of current allergy regulations, safeguarding knowledge and planning skills
• Be able to demonstrate their ability to move in a fast paced environment
