This is a key post as a Learing Mentor in our Sixth Form. The current postholder is relocating at the end of the academic year.
The post is available from the start of Term 1 (September 2024). It is full time (37 hours per week), over five days, actual hours to be agreed. This post is graded BG10 (£33,023 rising to £36,648 gross (pro rata), term time only + 5 INSET days and 3 additional days to be worked during the holidays, for activities such as casework, Open Evenings, and A Level results day.
The Role
The successful applicant will be line managed by the Head of Sixth Form (Rob Shaw) and you will be based in the Sixth Form building. We have two learning mentors in our Sixth Form, to complement the work of the wider pastoral team. This post provides a unique opportunity to develop and deploy new skills in a School which has a compelling vision and deep commitment to providing exceptional teaching, learning, and pastoral care.
Your specific role will be to help the Head of Sixth Form and Heads of Y12 and Y13 to support certain vulnerable students through focused interventions designed to ensure they get ‘back on track’ with their learning. You will be in a unique position to have a positive effect on the young people in your care.Our School is committed to safeguarding and further establishing a culture of safeguarding that protects and promotes the welfare of pupils that are in our care. The School
St Mary Redcliffe and Temple is a successful and heavily oversubscribed 11-18 co-educational, Church of England, comprehensive school of over 1700 students, serving families from the whole of greater Bristol and beyond.
