The Role

This key post as Head of Business Studies (and Economics) TLR 2a is available from 6 January 2025. This is a permanent, full-time post.

We seek to appoint a talented teacher able to teach Business Studies at GCSE and A Level and Economics at A level. Business Studies is a popular subject at both GCSE and A level. The successful candidate will lead the subject at both levels and coordinate the work of the other two members of the department.  They will be supported in their role by a member of the School Leadership Team.  The Recliffe Sixth Form Centre is extremely well regarded within Bristol and beyond.

The School

St Mary Redcliffe and Temple (SMRT) is a successful and heavily oversubscribed 11-18 co-educational, Church of England, comprehensive school of over 1750 students, serving families from the whole of greater Bristol and beyond. We are located at the heart of the city and have a diverse student community with considerable parental support. Our diversity is a strength and something we celebrate. The Redcliffe Sixth Form Centre currently houses approximately 700 students from our own school and from many other schools across the City.

Inspection Reports

The School was judged in April 2015 to be outstanding by Ofsted in each and every category. We were also judged outstanding in our last church school (SIAMS) inspection in March 2017. Despite this there is absolutely no sense of complacency. We are a forward-looking school with a relentless focus on providing the absolute best provision so that no child is left behind. The closing date for receipt of application forms by the Headteacher's PA is by 10am Monday 14 October 2024.

When providing details of your referees you must include their e-mail address. References must span the last 5 years of employment history in accordance with KCSIE guidance. Please include a referee from your current post (principal or headteacher) and if you have worked in multiple settings in this 5-year period, you should have included a referee from each setting.
